Newly renovated. New management. Great food. Fantastic service. Will be back for sure.
What the heck has happened to Turtle Jack's? The wings there used to be great! Service and atmosphere were, too. Not any longer? At 6:30 on a recent Tuesday, nobody seemed to be in overall charge of seating arrangements, although the sign sternly warned people not to go seating themselves. Wait staff appeared apparently at random, and selected whomever caught their eye, regardless of where they were standing in the (short) lineup. After eventual seating, a waitress arrived almost instantly for drink order, delivered that, took food order, then lost interest. After 19 minutes of the 20 I'd mentally allotted to let elapse before I had to leave, cutlery and condiments arrived. Waitress put them on the table without a word, and disappeared again. Six minutes later, wings and fries arrived. Awful. "Crispy" fries were flaccid, wings were of at best medium size, visibly overcooked (nearly burned), dried-out, and the coating so drenched in salt as to be nearly inedible. Celery sticks were ancient, and woody. That neither the wings nor the portions were very generous was actually a strong point this time. The worst of it all may be the bruises you suffer from kicking yourself for not going to one of the several decent competitors within a kilometer or so of poor old Turtle Jack's. TJ's, I knew you and loved you in your prime -- but I think those days are gone.
Average food, average service. Portions are a bit small for the price. Not my first choice when it comes to eating out but not somewhere I would outright avoid. Have had better meals at the Oakville location previously.
My family ordered take out from here one night, and the driver was over an hour late! When he finally arrived with our wings and onion rings, the vegetables we cooked as sides were cold and soggy. The driver said he was new, and that's why he was late. To top it off he didnt have change!! When my mom called the restaurant to complain, they didn't appologize, they said they would send a coupon for $25 bucks off the next order, however when the driver came back with the change he gave her the coupon they werent signed by a manager or anything. She was extremely rude, and could have cared less that we were waiting for dinner for over an hour AND that it was cold!
Went in because one in our party had had a great meal up in the Huntsville area. Unfortunately ... not our experience today. Lighting terrible and menus very hard to read for older patrons. Took FOREVER for our order to arrive ... perhaps it took that long to incinerate the hamburger! Caesar salad arrived with decaying chunks in it ... waitress told us it was because the kitchen is so cold. Other meals were fine, nothing special, but the experience on the whole will keep me away.
