Down Hill

I have visited Peters for 45 years, and over the past several years it has gone right down hill. The hamburger patty is a much smaller portion of what it was almost half the size, it tastes pre-cooked like other fast food places, and the burgers use to have an extra half patty on each burger, and that has ended. They no longer have nuts on their Sunday's which tasted so good, and the last time I was there they didn't even have whipping cream, so it was nothing more than ice cream and sauce. It's so disappointing when places try to save a dollar and put out a less quality item. Not worth the drive any longer.

Time For This Place To Close

Time To Close Down This Relic. Peters used to be the place to go in town for great burgers and chips. However since the place was sold to new owners it has taken a nosedive. The food is now cheap crap. Look at all of the poor reviews on all of the websites. Most of the staff dont speak English anymore, the place is dirty. I wrote to Peters before about this and all I got back was a surly email. Old Gus is probably in tears over the way this place has gone downhill.

Yuck

Peter's food could not be worse. The Burgers are made of some kind of Mystery Meat, low quality bun, sloppy, just bad. The Shakes taste medicinal, and are so thick that you cannot drink them until they start to melt. The French fries are those crappy commercial Ripple cut, they are soggy, and over salted. With so many places to get a great burger, why waste your $ at Peter's. Goto: Boogie Burger, Burger Burger, The Burger Bus, Most Pubs, Buchannan's, Lounge Burger, et al.

Classic Calgary! A heritage burger joint beloved by so many: real ice-cream shakes, a mountain of fries in the family sized box, signature patty and a half on single burger, cash only, perfect location on the #1 highway! Love it and always will!

Every flavour milkshake you can imagine!

I just love Peter's. This place is a must see for visitors to Calgary. This is an old-fashioned drive-in. The portions are HUGE. On my last visit I had a cheeseburger and it was the best one I have had in recent memory. Peter's is so much fun! Plus you can mix and match to make whatever flavour milkshake you want. To die for!

Far out French fries in Calgary

Far out French fries in Calgary

In accordance with old-school, drive-in style, Peters’ fries are served in big boxes, meant to be shared (it takes a large family to get through a “family size” order). While not the crispiest in town, there’s a nostalgic je ne sais quoi about Peters’ fries, and they taste even better if you eat them on the picnic benches in the iconic drive-in’s parking lot.

Where to find magnificent milkshakes in Calgary

A beloved drive-though burger joint that also features walkup windows, Peters’ Drive-In is located just west of the busy intersection of 16th Avenue Northwest and Edmonton Trail. Patrons often pair a burger and a massive order of fries with an ultra-thick Peters’ shake. Served large or small, you’re welcome to mix flavours that include vanilla, butterscotch, pineapple and toasted marshmallow.

Take a bite of these beautiful Calgary burgers

Take a bite of these beautiful Calgary burgers

This drive-through fast-food factory on the Trans Canada Highway makes burgers that Calgarians have come to know and love over literal generations. Custom-baked buns hide flame-broiled beef patties doused in house-made barbecue sauce. Pair with a shake and fries.
