Since 2003, Movember has raised over $670 million to help more than 1000 programs to raise awareness of men’s health issues, particularly prostate and testicular cancer. Throughout the month, participants grow out their facial hair to raise funds and help spark discussion on these important topics. In the spirit of helping spread this positive message, take part in these Montreal bars’ and restaurants’ Movember-themed events.
The staff members at the rum distillery of Mont-Royal Avenue hold the Movember cause close to their hearts, which is why they’re hosting a MoParty on November 29. On the menu: a close shave and photo shoots, all organized to raise donations. Throughout the month, the Barraca will donate one dollar from the sale of designated products.
Two Brit & Chips restaurants that excel in the art of fish ’n’ chips are offering a very special breading during the whole month of November. Part of the revenue generated by the sale of this menu item will go to the good cause of Movember. Let's head to Côte-des-Neiges or on McGill Street to have a taste!
The de Courcelle Street establishment, which specializes in doughnuts, has prepared one or more seasonal flavours for Movember. Indulge, treat yourself and spread awareness of this good cause, all at once.
Bishop & Bagg is teaming up with Jameson to host a cocktail competition in its St-Viateur Street pub to raise funds for Movember. Visit the Bishop & Bagg Facebook page or the official website for more details on this November event.
On Thursday, November 26, the McKibbins pub located in Pointe-Claire invites you to enjoy a meal of turkey and beer (or wine) and American football! Tickets to attend the event are listed at $40. The profits will be donated to organizations affected by Movember. For those who want to know, the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Detroit Lions (at 1:00pm) and the Carolina Panthers will face the Dallas Cowboys (at 4:30pm).
