Meet the owner

Le Boucan is a charming little neighborhood restaurant located in Little Burgundy offering a Southern US-inspired menu. As the name suggests, the restaurant is first and foremost a smokehouse. Meat, poultry and fish are prepared using a wood chip smoking method that gives the food its unique flavour.

Open since 2010, Le Boucan owes its brilliant concept to its owners, Jonathan Nguyen, Patrick Beaudet and Dérick Francis, all fans of BBQ. After taking part in numerous smoke-cooking competitions, the young entrepreneurs decided it was time for them to put their passion and expertise to good use under one roof and Le Boucan was born!

Today, things are going well for the trio, who have thrown themselves body and soul into this project that is so dear to them. And with such a winning formula, business can only boom.

Food wow, service bad.

Amazing food, that's why I feel bad not giving a 5 stars. But the service was just so bad. The waitress was too busy to care about giving us any service. We went to get menus ourselves along with water. You can tell she was too busy to care, it was not that busy a quiet Sunday afternoon. Change your staff guys, cause your food is sooo good.

Amazing Chicken!

Le Boucan's BBQ Chicken Breast was amazing! We got it with fries and cheesy corn. Quite possibly the best piece of chicken in town, definitely one of the best dishes we've had anywhere in 2012.

Gotta love BBQ

Fantastic patio and the BBQ chicken poutine was incredible (having come in a tall cone definitely was eye-catching!). Save your money on the dessert though (neither the brownie with bacon or pie in a glass were exceptional)... and get one more cocktail!

Celebrate Montreal's Mac & Cheese Week

Here, mac and cheese is served in a small pot, similar to the way a classic French onion soup is served. And do you know what? It's just as good!

For a taste of Montreal's Griffintown

Chicken wings, poutine and ribs are just some of the dishes that appear on Le Boucan’s menu, which is inspired by the cuisine found in the Southern United States and in Montreal diners. Thanks to its vintage decor, you may feel that you're somewhere other than Griffintown!

Hearty soups for a Montreal Fall

Smoked tomato soup - Tomato soup is the soup of our youth. The version found at le Boucan brings back memories, but also delivers a twist that makes it memorable on its own.
