“We’re not a gym. We’re a conditioning centre,” says Heather Pereira, a coach and manager of customer experience at Twist Sport Conditioning Centre (commonly referred to as Twist Whitby). Its seasonal, 12- to 14-week training programs will do more than just get you fit. “By the end of the 12 weeks, when we ask someone what their favourite sport is, they say Twist because it teaches them different ways to move,” says Heather. “People become so much more athletic in their movements and so much stronger.”
While Twist coaches a lot of athletes and teams, it loves working with anyone looking to get healthier and more athletic. “We’ve had moms that come in the door and say, ‘I’m not an athlete’ and we say, ‘Oh, yes you are! We just have to bring that out in you!’”
