I always like this place and especially enjoy their Sunday brunch. I would not label their food as gastronomic, but it is always wholesome and not expensive. They have been around for years. Long may they continue.
Spring Price Fix came with what was supposed to be butternut squash soup but was like watered down beef barley soup without the barley. My 10 oz Top Sirloin was ordered medium rare and came out looking like a 4oz minute steak and was well done. When I sent it back it (politely I might add) it came back cooked blue! When my steak came back the chef stood smiling at me from the kitchen while I cut into the steak (making me think his handling of my steak was less than appropriate). The fact it was seared for what could not have been more than 60 seconds a side and the thought of what they may have done to my steak made me stop eating. The dessert was almost as bad, even though they must have tried extra hard to make it so wrong. Chocolate Mousse is not chocolate pudding and if you want to pass it off as that you should at least ensure that there are not chunks of unmixed powder in it! THIS IS THE WORST RESTAURANT I HAVE EVER EVER EATEN AT! ITS PLACES LIKE THIS THAT MAKE WE WISH YOU COULD GIVE A SCORE OF MINUS 5 STARS! If you don’t believe my review sit near the back of the restaurant near the kitchen and listen to how many orders are wrong or sent back because they were not cooked properly. I counted at least 5 in the time we were there.
My wife and I were here for breakfast on Saturday (not the buffet). The restaurant has a great atmosphere seems very clean and also the washrooms are in a great condition. The patio looked nice. The breakfast we had was not the best quality. The eggs my wife ordered were already cold when they came. The fresh fruits were just some melon slices. I didn't get fruits at all, although they were on the menu. After a polite complaint we got the fruits and new warm eggs. Also the butter that came with the pancakes seemed to be out of the fridge for too long. Or refrigerated after being out for too long. The salad I had as substitute for the fries partly went bad already. Some leaves were glibberish dark green. I had to sort them out and the greens that were in touch with that. My omelet and eggs were tasty and the pancakes were fluffy. The was good, but could have been a bit faster. The kitchen could not have been on overload, because only a few customers were in. All in all I think this restaurant has good potential, but needs to take more care about food quality and service speed.
A group of friends and I went to their Canadian wine dinner party. It was great. We had a preset menu with appetizers, soup, VENISON for a main course (which I had never tried but it's great) and maple pecan pie. They had a sommelier describe the pairing of different Canadian wines with the food and life entertainment. My friends had been visiting their wine dinners before and it was my first time. I didn't think it will be as much fun as it was. Everybody had a great time.
Since me and my husband are new to the Beaches we're checking out different places. We loved this restaurant. The food and service were fantastic. Will definitely go there again!

This Beaches spot is famous for their brunch buffet and easy-peasy outdoor patio. They serve a plate of delectable PEI mussels in your choice of sauce. Options include white wine, garlic and cream, marinara, or Thai curry lemongrass. They’re also known for their creamy tiramisu and custardy crème brûlée, perfect desserts for any day of the week.

Get to Whitlock’s before 4 p. m. for breakfast (every day except Sunday) and see why this restaurant has been thriving since 1991. Their famous breakfast buffet is offered every Sunday starting at 9 a.m. Check out the omelette bar and the roast beef carving station, then load up on Belgian waffles. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a lazy weekend.
View this Smart ListThe sandwiches at Whitlock's are drool-worthy. They pile each one sky-high with more toppings than you think can fit – such as pea meal bacon, five different cheeses, pulled pork or juicy Portobello mushrooms. And, if you’re really daring, you can order them all on the same sandwich. Each sammy comes with soup, salad or fries, with an additional option of sweet potato fries.
