Come enjoy a savory meal at The White Brick Kitchen. You can even enjoy the sunshine on their terrace. They are open nightly from Tuesday to Saturday and are easily accessible by bicycle and public transit.
Brothers Stephen and Matthew Howell were fated to go into business together. The two had studied at George Brown College, with Stephen in the culinary end and Matthew focusing on the front-of-house and business management. After graduating, the Howells cut their teeth at various restaurants, butchers and eateries over the years.
In 2011, determined to start a place of their own, Stephen and Matthew put their savings together and opened The White Brick Kitchen at Bloor and Euclid. Since then, the restaurant has collected stores of accolades, appeared on “best-of” lists across the city and, in 2015, earned a spot on the Food Network TV series You Gotta Eat Here!
The White Brick Kitchen do things a little bit different when it comes to grilled cheese sandwiches. The Grilled Cheese Meatloaf features its signature meatloaf between two slices of bread, with the addition of cheddar cheese and house-made tomato jam. If you’re more of a purest, The White Brick Kitchen offers a classic option made with four different types of cheese. The sandwiches are served Tuesday through Saturday.
This local joint at Bloor and Euclid is the place to be if you’re looking for classic American comfort food in the heart of Koreatown. Brothers Stephen and Matthew Howell prepare a humble menu of tasty comfort foods including beef shank shepherd’s pie, sloppy Joe fries, four-cheese mac ’n’ cheese, and buttermilk fried chicken and homemade tater tots.
The newest local joint serving up hearty comfort food is tucked in among the Korean eateries on Bloor Street West. Described as “classic America,” this eatery is popular for its homemade tater tots, made-from-scratch barbecue chips and hand-cured bacon, the BBLT (with bacon AND beef) and banana bread French toast. Yum!
