Not only does your food come fast, but it's been marinating for quite some time. This is how Indian food ( and Pakistani) is actually cooked. If you go to an Indian restaurant and you're waiting for an hour and a half for your dish thinking it's going to be fresh and that's how it's made, you're wrong. Indian food takes HOURS to make. The sauces and spices need time to sink into the meat, and they do exactly that at Tika house. The service is great, they're always on top of your water and they don't expect you to tip! People might complain about the atmosphere but the reason why they made the place like that is because in India and Pakistan the best tasting places are done up like Tika house so you can focus on the food instead of the decor. The washrooms are very nice though! Best Indian place in the city. Don't bother going anywhere else.
the patio is the place to be especially at night since its very colorful and lit up. the place has always been packed every time I have gone here. I always have the wraps - which have been consistently good. they do make everything sizzling as your likely to see the waiter's walking by with those sizzling plates. their karachi tea was very good. the way the seating works is a bit strange however the people working there were very nice. been here about 3 times over the past year.
Great food. This is my favourite Indian restaurant. The food is excellent, very tasty. Our order arrived very fast and the staff was very friendly. The ordering process could be improved upon; you have to mark down what you want on a menu sheet at the table and then line up to place the order and the line up again when you are ready to pay. The décor is very drab, and as cheap as you can get but the food is worth it. Their chicken Kebobs are very good and the Byriani is great! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
My favourite Indian/Pakistani restaurant in Toronto. The service is super fast, and the food is phenomenal. Going in large groups is recommended so you can order a good variety of dishes, as the portions are quite large. They are open late (which is a big plus), and also ALWAYS have seating. I know it's been undergoing construction for expansion but they keep the place open. As long as you don't mind plastic cutlery it's all good.
I've been to Lahore Tikka House on numerous occasions, and I have to agree with most of the reviewers that the atmosphere is pretty bad. Having said that, if you can overlook the plastic lawn chairs and Styrofoam plates, most of their food is unbelievable. I wouldn't recommend their rice dishes, but their curries have never disappointed. Excellent naan, and they have one of the best kababs in the city. They're most famously known for their butter chicken, which is one of the better options in Toronto. Overall, if you're looking for a good atmosphere, then don't go here but don't miss out on the excellent food. Order take-out if you must!
OK, firstly you have to give this restaurant a break on the comments about the ambiance and service. Lahore Tikka started as a wee little place the size of a small donut shop with amazing food, and they have been under construction for a few years to accomodate the HOARDES of people who flock there for the authentic pakistani cooking. This is, without exaggeration, my favourite restaurant -- anywhere. We regularly drive to Toronto just to get some more of the channa masala, and order 8-10 meals "to go" to bring home (tip: the channa freezes well, you can stock up and thaw+cook it later when you need a Lahori hit). I'm sorry I can't give it a 10 for service; it's not a hand-holding bring-your-bill service-oriented restaurant with a maitre'd wiping your brow and tucking in your pants. The service is what it is. Friendly, helpful, you get your food, you eat. If you go out expecting a fine dining experience with all the waitstaff attention, wine list and full-service trappings, you'll be confused or dismayed. There is no buffet. You wait in line at the front counter and place your order, then you get a number, grab a table, and wait. Eating there is a little wacky. Unusual. Fun. The food is what people go there for. It is OUTSTANDING.
You do not come here for ambience...Although with that said i have NEVER been dissapointed! Excellent food (and I have lived in India for a year!) Would and have recommended this place to everyone.. Inexpensive and authentic, and after a meal the grocer across the street offers pistachio kolfi, a compliment to a meal...

Good food doesn’t have to be fancy or expensive. And there is such a festive, party air to the almost outdoor Lahore Tikka House, you’ll come to think of it as one of your favourite places, within moments of arriving. Inside a large tent structure elegantly draped with flowing colourful scarves and strings of white lights, eating delicious dishes off of paper plates while seatedon plastic chairs seems like you’re at a friend’s wedding, more than being at a restaurant.
