Tatiana Rogova, owner of Gayley's Café, graduated as an engineer physicist and worked for many years in management consulting in her hometown of Moscow. In 2009, she came to Canada so that her daughter could have a better life: “I moved mostly for my daughter’s future,” says Tatiana. “I saw that it was much better to raise girls here — my daughter has a better life here in Canada.”
In 2014, Tatiana took over the legacy that was Gayley’s Café and Catering, which opened in 1996. “I bought everything: the cook, the clientele, the menu, as well the name,” she says. The head cook has been at the café for 14 years, and some regulars have their own personalized orders programmed into the computer. “There’s Mike’s Breakfast and Terry's Steak,” jokes Tatiana. “Not everyone gets a special though!”
The Café also serves a selection of gourmet homemade specialty sandwiches, kefir shakes, wraps and soups during their lunch hours, as well as offering an extensive catering menu, sure to please all palates.
