Too expensive for the quality of food
Food was expensive, steak was overcooked slightly... didn't get bread/garlic? ... food was delicious though, and small portions of potatoes.... no hostess, didn't know where to go as we entered the building.... but delicious food nonetheless
Overall bad first experience at this restaurant. Small parking lot, upstairs room is disconnected from kitchen and the rest of the restaurant (ex: only one bathroom stall for each gender), tables were organized in a strange fashion - two of them had chairs lined up against the walls (how do they expect people to get in and out without having to climb over everyone??), smaller menu when in a large group (choice of only 5 appetizers and 6 entrees), expensive menu options (small appetizers ranging from $9 to $12; small entrees ranging from $20 to $34), EXTREMELY slow service (took 1.5 hours to get our entrees from when they took our orders), small portions (when considering the prices), didn't ask if we wanted coffee or tea or desserts, took at least 15 minutes to get our bills, and to top it off - they DON'T ACCEPT DEBIT (in 2011, too!).Good points: Servers were nice and friendly (albeit slow at times), free bread slices with herbed butter (if it wasn't for this, I'd still be hungry after having my meal).Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good - I will not be returning to this restaurant again.
Best Rack of Lamb ever!! I visited this restaurant with my husband and his parents and the food was amazing! We spent the evening there enjoy every minute! The appetizers were amazing best Calamarie ever! Fallowed by an amazing meal finished with tasty dessert! The service was great, friendly and timely always happy to help us! I would most defiantly suggests this place again, especially to celebrate any occasion.
I am a long time customer at Alexandrias restaurant, and a proud gay man as well, and have found to have been treated very well there. The owner has always made me feel at home, and we have become friends over the past year. But what this couple has failed to mention is that they were over an hour late for his reservation on one of the busiest night of the week after the kitchen had been closed at 9:30, that they failed to leave a credit card to confirm your reservation, and that he began mistreating the staff who had met him at the door to which the owner then began to defend. I will stand by Alexandria's as long as these people are there working and upholding the quality of dining they have been.
Absolutely best food in town. Moe is an amazing chef and his staff is the best. Food is very fresh and healthy. Great selection of wine. Great dining experience. We had a large party and all loved the atmosphere and food. Great night out and worth every dollar.
It is just simply one of the best if not the best restaurant in Sudbury. Mo is an amazing Chef; he has a wonderful compliment of staff that are pleasant and courteous. If you like Seafood, the Jumbo Shrimp and Digby Scallops are delicious. If you like Meat the Wiener Schnitzel is wild. It is my favourite item on the menu. Like hot curry? Mo can make it HOT! For dessert Crème brûlée is out of this World good. Mrs. Paden is one great Pastry Chef.
Terribly overpriced, would not send my worst enemy here. Very cramped, and outdated. Stay Away!! The calamari was such a small serving it would leave a mouse hungry. The duck was very good, but small serving size and the rice and veggies were below average.
I am usually a huge fan of Mediterranean food. The place is nice, but the food was not worth the price we paid for it. There are far better places in town.
We had to wait forever to be served, the food was ok but almost cold and had probably been waiting for a while.
THE STAFF IS AMAZING AND ARE GREAT EVERYTIME WE GO FOR DINNER. MY FIANCE TOOK ME THERE FOR SUPPER AND PROPOSED TO ME THAT NIGHT! :-) IT WAS WONDERFUL! EVERTIME SOMEONE ASKS ME FOR A FINE DINING RESTAURANT I RECOMMEND ALEXANDRIA'S RESTAURANT BECAUSE I KNOW HOW AMAZING THE FOOD IS!!!!!
I know the owner of the restaurant very well, and they are definately not closing their doors! My fiance took me there and proposed to me on May 1st! the staff is great and I recommend this fine dining restaurant to anyone who comes to Sudbury. If someone asks me where to go for fine dining thats where i say to go!
Food was wonderful. Loved it. Don't know what people are talking about the bad service. I had a party for a friend there. Room was not small, had a party upstairs. Had more than 10...around 50. Lovely staff and food. price range was right on the money (tehe) I will surly go there again since I make frequent visits. Hope to be going there again soon. P.S it is not closing I was just there on the 20th of may 2008
The food was quite terrible. We both ordered the steak dinner, both are steaks came to us rare, when we both asked for medium well. The rice was very undercooked and there vegetables were no better then the frozen ones I have in my freezer. The service was good, but I would not return for the poor food quality.
The restaurant is quaint and not at all what you would expect from the outside. The service was fantastic and the food was truely delicious. We have already decided that should we ever be in the neighbourhood again we would definitely go for dinner again and we would definitely have the creme brule again.
Not being from Sudbury, I asked many friends where to eat and they said Alexandrias. So we decided to go there and noticed right away that it has been reccommended where to eat in Canada for 4 years running, so we knew that something special was waiting. Boy were we right, the food was amazing, the service was top notch. It was very busy and we still got our food on time. I would recommend this place to everyone who likes fine dining, Bravo to the staff at Alexandrias
very nice restraunt awesome place for valentines great food, fast and friendly service. deffanitly plan on going back
WHAT A WAY TO CELEBRATE OUR 10TH ANNIVERSARY! AMAZING FOOD AND WONDERFUL STAFF MAKE YOU FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEXT MEAL THERE!
I have been to Alexandria's twice now, and have enjoyed it both times. I am only able to have one main course there due to dietary restrictions (vegetarian) but the chef always accomodates my needs by replacing butter with olive oil in the cooking process. I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary and the experience was great, it is a very romantic setting, and the service was great.
The Greeter at the door was very friendly. Atmosphere was nice. I felt our party was too big for the atmosphere (hard to stay hushed when so many people talking). Food was very good. My husband had the Prime Rib Steak, I had Pickeral. I preferred the steak. The only thing that brought down my dinner was that there was too much lemon on the fish. The chef should allow the patron to decide how much lemon to put on fish. My sister-in-law had the same thing as me and also said she had too much lemon on her fish. Other than that it was a fantastic place.
