There are no words !! Terribly over priced bland Nursing Home food. Buffet only had a few hot items and all of them were terrible.
I had heard that the Carousel was a decent buffet, but I disagree. While the salad bar was plentiful, it was full of overly sauced salads and lacking in toppings for a regular "leafy green" salad. I do commend them for having actual baconbits, however. The hot portion of the buffet was alright overall. The beef and ribs were tasty, but the gravy was orange (!?) and the potatoes seemed to be powdered. I would like to commend the service. The gentleman behind the "hot buffet" counter was very nice and the woman clearing our plates was lovely.
Fantastic the staff were wonderful and attentive. Food was great. Party of 20 and all enjoyed every thing this place offered. Loved it would highly reccommend to all
been here many times...... looking at all the negative2007 revues must be their competitors whining. I always found the selection good, food good, but like all buffets sometimes the food isn't hot enough ...but good food value for the money
We had a large family sunday breakfast....very poor selection, food was all cold and wasn't getting replenished quickly. The waitress was OK but I wouldn't go back for breakfast.
I would return based on the price per meal and just to try their sweet potato fries again. Our server was very polite and helpful. If you order a salad as a main course you really only need a side order, the regular size salads are big enough to feed 3 people. I've had sweet potato fries before but the ones here were really really good. The garlic bread wasn't all that great. The quesadilla had too much salsa and onions in it and the cheese inside wasn't completely melted. The shirley temples were really good. The strawberry milkshake was alright, but could have been bigger for the price we paid. With 5 adults and 2 kids in our party the total came to $80.
It's tough to find a great restaurant for a hockey team of 10 yr olds, their parents and coaching staff, totalling 45, but the Carousel scored! The buffet was very fresh, loads of salads and great entree items to select from. a large assortment of pies for dessert were terrific!! the staff was very accommodating and our boys tucked in!! Well done!!
The server was unfriendly, rude and pushed us into ordering almost before we were firmly planted in our chairs. The food was cold, bland and not worth what we paid. The decor made me feel like I was walking into my grandmothers kitchen. To round off our experience we were presented the cheque before we'd even finished eating.
I ordered the steak sandwich. The steak was tough and had 2 inches of fat on the side that after being cut of (with a butter knife-no steak knives given) there was not much steak left. The fries were McCains fries , something i can eat at home anything. Plus I had to pay a 1.50 for a fountain pop that would not even be a half a can of pepsi. On top of that the service was very slow, and unfriendly. Not a good experience, will never eat there again. Dont waste your time and money on this place
Peterborough has no shortage of places to eat, we won't bother with this place again, boring. How many times can you reheat leftovers? Servers could smile once and a while. Sure didn't get our monies worth.
If you enjoy mediocre buffet food this is definitely the place. We went in during the PTBO Atom Lift Lock Hockey Tournament and it was packed. This would explain the slow service but it is not an excuse for the buffet being empty! This tournament is a tradition in Peterborough with hundreds of teams coming in Everyone knows when it is happening. The food was gobbled up so quick when it did hit the buffet that choice was limited. Once again, it was mediocre. You can't blame the restaurant for the boisterous 9/10 year olds. That's a parents duty.
Prices way too high, even for buffet. Not enough variety, food that is offered not all that good. staff not terrible but nowhere near exceptional either. won't be returning any time soon.
A great dining experience. The food was very good and the portions were large. The waitress was attentive and extremely pleasant. We would most certainly dine there again and highly recommend it to others.
Excellent family restaurant although we have attended on many occasions including business socials. Staff are attentive and pleasant and place no limits on service levels to make you comfortable. Food selection on the buffet is tasty, well prepared and includes a full selection to accommodate everyones likes. The desserts are also plentiful and delicious. The prices are very competitive and allow all budgets to participate. Don't miss out. Try it soon and include the Sunday Brunch experience. You won't be disappointed. John K.
This is your classic Country Buffet restaurant. They have an excellent breakfast and dinner buffet with fresh roast beef and corn beef. their dessert selection is second to none with more pies then you can beleive. Try to avoid going on sunday morning due to the church crowd, those old ladies can really move when it comes to food
An excellent restaurant to dine with family for any meal. Good furnishings,a happy atmosphere and clean. a very good breakfast buffet, includes a high end breakfast selection with soup, salads and a full range of tasty desserts. One cannot go wrong !!
A wonderful buffet any time of day, brunch is amazing too. Great for a family meal or a quiet dinner for two.
I WAS TOLD IT WAS A GOOD PLACE FOR LUNCH BUT I GUESS THEY HAVEN'T BEEN THERE FOR A WHILE. SALAD WAS SOGGY SOUP TASTLESS,FISH WAS GREASY.I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS WORTH IT.
