was looking forward to this place after seeing it on "you gotta eat here." nice décor. order at counter...blackboard 'menu' a bit hard to decipher...what comes with? anyway, I ordered a couple of Caesar salads..."sold out"...I think it was about 12:10, seems a bit early to be out of something as basic as Caesar salad...maybe take it off the blackboard when it's sold out??? I had a veal Panini, it was good, and a mixed green salad with a raspberry vinaigrette...AMAZING! my wife had cannelloni, good stuff, and the same salad. got our soft drinks out of the fridge, took em to the table...then had to go looking for a bottle opener, found one lying beside the cash register. now, the service...there were 4 ppl working that day (I guess the 3 sisters and an employee), but the service was quite poor. the person who took my order at the counter wasn't too helpful, in a hurry, quite brusque. we waited what I thought was a long time for our food (restaurant was busy but not packed) and then waited quite a while for a bill. finally gave up and went to the counter where I was ignored. wasn't in the mood to start screaming, so I patiently waited...and waited...and waited. everyone was cooking, nobody working the counter. resisted the urge to dine and dash and eventually paid up and got out of there. the final verdict...not bad. good food, nice décor, lousy service. would give it another chance if I was in Orillia at lunchtime, but not something i'd drive north for...
