Been a loyal frequent customer for 12 years. They have reduced the sizes of their take out containers, even the steamed rice container, AND increased their prices.
They have lost me.
The Congee Star is some of the best Chinese food in Don Mills. For lunch, this place is a zoo! Come early or come late but DON'T come at 12 o'clock and expect a table right away unless you are Jet Li or Jacky Chan. The reason for this is the food is very good. By supper, the office crowd has retreated to the 'burbs from whence they came and getting a table right away is not a problem. Remember though, this is not a fast food factory, good food takes a little time.
The beef with ginger and onions is excellent. As is the Cantonese chow mein. The beef brisket on lo mein is very tasty.
The restaurant is clean and comfortable. Booths are to be found on the outside and tables and chairs are in the middle.

This is based on their delivery service. The food was terrible. I paid 35$ and food lacks taste and quantity. We ordered aorund 2PM maybe the chef were tired. Chowmien sauce was very few.. I need to add hot water to cook the fried noodles. Spicy squid is tasteless.. lemon chicken was average. Dine in may be OK,, but delivery is terrible,, I will not order from them again.. very Terrible,,!!!!!
The food and service here are always amazing! This is the best Chinese restaurant in the Don Mills area. Their Satay Beef on Rice Noodles, and Fried Sweet and Sour Pork are amazing too.

My friends & family --- LOVE Congee Star on Don Mills. The service is fast, the servers are friendly, the location is great, the place is clean and the FOOD is delicious, not oily, not salty, not bland, it's just PERFECT. We come here all the time, lunch & dinner, and we always order take out as well, why cook when you have Congee Star!
