Reservation at 7:00pm for our large group was made two months in advance. By 10:00pm only half the group had their meals. Absolutely no communication from wait staff who took orders then and disappeared. Discount that was given was minimal. Teenagers went outside for a bit while we waited and weren’t allowed back in because apparently the place turns into a bar at 10pm and they weren’t old enough (even though parents were still inside waiting for food and bills). Do NOT recommend!
We were looking for a place to watch the Euro 2012 final and we decided to visit this place. When we walked in, the place was empty, apparently the downstairs doesn't open until much later than the upstairs. So, we decided to head upstairs. It was empty, there were only three people behind the bar (all servers) and us. We chose the table which was facing the TV screens. We asked the one server if she could lower the music and turn up the volume on the TVs. She asked her manager and gladly did so, she was very kind about it. The upstairs is huge, there are tons of tables and a few pool tables as well. There are also a ton of TV screens throughout the whole area. We ordered a bunch of appetizers as we were going to be there for a while. We first ordered the chicken wings. We ordered the first batch with mild barbeque sauce, and the second batch with honey mustard sauce. The mild barbeque ones were okay, but the honey mustard ones were awesome! I highly recommend the honey mustard ones. The only thing I found about the wings were that they were expensive, only eight small wings for $10, pretty pricey if you ask me. Then we ordered the smokehouse poutine; pretty good poutine but again, very pricey, $11 and it was a small dish. The next item was the spinach dip, this dip is beyond amazing, you definitely need to try it! It comes with a large serving of pitas and the spinach dip was warmed to perfection, AMAZING! After that, we tried the brie calzone, which was a huge disappointment. It was just a huge pocket of air, with a small lining of brie cheese and a small salad on the side, very disappointing. I wouldn't order it again only because it cost $10 and it wasn't that good. The service was okay, nothing out of the ordinary. I would visit again and try a few different items. It's worth a shot, it might satisfy your taste buds!
We went back but avoided the pizza. We each had a different beef dish and were quite satisfied with it. Can't beat the atmosphere when seated close to the fireplace! Nice and cozy.
We went on a weekday evening. Our favourite starter is the blackened pototo salad but we felt that it was more burning spicy hot than spicy flavourful that night. The pizzas were average; nothing special. Service was attentive, though the table and bread plates could have been cleaner (crumbs on table, fingerprints on plates). Every few months we go back to this restaurant as a standby. I hope our next food experience will be better.
We used to come here frequently but will not be returning! The Yorkshire beef bowl was horrible - a doughy blob with dry overcooked beef slices. The bread which used to be served warm and crusty is now delivered cold and chewy. Prime rib sandwich a little better but a huge bun that added more cold carbs and no flavour.
