My husband had made reservations for a nice romantic dinner, we sat for half an hour sipping drinks then they took our order which about another half an hour just to get our appetizer caesar salad which was good anothe hour went by and we still had no dinner, no explanation as to why, so we asked for the check , they said it was the house. the table directly behind had the same thing happen and they left at the same time that we did. We still don't know what happened because there was other people getting food. I work in the industry, and we wouln't have been so upset if they would have just talked to us but not one person apologized for the incovience. Needless to say it was the worst valentines experience ever!!
Arrived at the restaurant around 6:30pm. Being a Saturday evening, there was a live Jazz band playing. A bit too loud if you are interested in having a conversation without having to yell at each other. The restaurant was very busy. Ordered our drinks. Our waiter came back a short time later with the drinks. Served me my sparkling water, and then placed my mother-in-law's glass of wine in front of me, slid it across to her, at which point the bottom of the glass hit the uneven point where the tables were joined together and spilled all over both she and I. The thing is, she had ordered white wine, and the waiter brought red. We were both wearing light coloured Fall outerwear, which became covered in red wine, as did our sweaters, pants and purses. Okay, accidents happen, but throughout the dinner, not one person from management came to apologize, (although the waiter seemed very apologetic) or to see if there was anything that could be done. Even though it was only one glass, it was mighty uncomfortable sitting in wet pants throughout the evening. We used our cloth napkins to absorb the mess, and they were not replaced with clean ones. At some point the waited had expressed that dry cleaning would be covered, but when my husband asked about a voucher for dry cleaning, our waiter said that the restaurant would not pick up the tab and that he would personally pay for it. He gave us his home phone number. Perhaps it's just me, but I did not feel comfortable calling our waiter at home, so Monday afternoon I called and spoke to the manager who had been on duty the evening we'd been there. He was very nonchalant, and when I told him that I thought their policy of the staff having to pay out dry cleaning was absurd, and that we would no longer be coming back to their restaurant, he told me to bring in the dry cleaning receipt. Later that week, I did take it in to him. He was extremely rude, took the receipt from me, handed it to the bartender and said "Pay her out". No apology, no "sorry for your trouble", NOTHING. So, I took my $36.25, and left, vowing that I would never step foot in that restaurant again. It was not our first time there, but it was certainly our last. Thanks for your time. :)
