From a one-stop top chef food court to more Colette locations, there is much for foodies be excited for in 2018! Toronto has become known for its bourgeoning foodie scene, and it looks like that trend is continuing into the new year, especially with plans like international icon Nobu setting up shop in the downtown core. Assembly Chef Hall

Assembly Chef Hall is now in its soft opening stages, but will have its grand opening in the new year. You’ll find every chef imaginable under one roof, from Ivana Raca to Nick Liu of DaiLo and Chantana Srisomphan of Khao San Road. There are also plans for a 266-seat beer hall!

Colette Grand Café in Holt Renfrew

Popular Parisian-style restaurant, Colette is set to take over Holts Café in the spring of next year. It will be a miniature version of the restaurant we have all come to love. Colette promises to offer a sophisticated menu and ambience that complements the iconic retailer. The café will be in both Toronto locations, as well as three other Holt Renfrew locations across Canada.

WVRST

WVRST is opening a second location of its beer hall! It’ll be setting up shop in Union Station in the newly renovated York Street Promenade. The restaurant will be a mini-version of the King West location, but still offering a delicious selection of sausages, beer and cider.

Union Chicken

Deep fried and GMO free, all of the chicken at Union Chicken is fresh and packed with flavour. Initially planned as its first location, thus the name, the eatery decided to open at Sherway Gardens first. But in 2018, you can grab some of the signature meals right in Union Station. Located on in the York Street Promenade you can expect authentic Southern cuisine.

Roywoods

Some of the best Jerk Chicken in Toronto is setting up shop in Union Station’s food court. The transformation is a long time coming, and the largest commuter terminal in the city is upping its food game. Roywoods, also known as Home of the Jerks, has gained notoriety for its massive selection of Jerk dishes and  commitment to providing authentic Caribbean meals.

Pick6

Word is that Drake is opening his very own restaurant in Toronto! Rumour is that Pick6 will be focus on sushi, although it has not yet been confirmed. The establishment is in the hiring stages and Chef Aaron Sevilla of The Shore Club will be leading in the kitchen. The restaurant is located in the Financial District.

Nobu

Often touted as some of the best sushi in the world, Nobu announced that a new location in Toronto! As a part of the Nobu condo complex and hotel, the restaurant is going to be massive, reportedly taking up 15,000 square feet. This project will be a first for Nobu. No word yet on the exact opening date!
