The service was excellent . My Husband and I both had the 7oz steak . Was done very well . Tried their Spice Rum and very smooth drink . We had a booth and there was a candle on the table made it romantic. Love the soft music playing . Lovely evening to remember . We were visiting Ottawa for Thanksgiving weekend and for my birthday . Have always enjoyed dropping into the Mow for dinner and drinks with friends, but a recent menu change removed a lot of the more interesting menu options and has reduced this place to having more of a cookie-cutter menu. "Mundane" may be too harsh a description, but it's a direct reflection of how much we liked the variety that could be found on the menu previously.
We'll likely still go back, but more for drinks and snacks rather than for meals.

If you only have a one hour lunch then this is definitely NOT the place for you to eat at that time.
We arrived and it was busy. The place seems cramped but it appearred to be clean. We had reserved a table for noon and waited a while to get seated. When the waitress finally made it to our table we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. It took a long time just to get our drinks and a very long time for our food. It ended up being an hour and a half lunch. Most other restaurants in the area offer a quick lunch so people can get back to work in a timely fashion. This is where The Wood falls drastically short.
The food was good, this I will not dispute. By burger was juicy and cooked perfectly and the salad with balsamic dressing was fresh and nice also. Unfortunately the speed of service will have to keep me away from this restaurant.

My wife and i came here for a night out. We had been recomended the Brew Table by the concierge at the Holiday Inn down the street. We had the steak frites and it was incredible. Cooked perfectly and the service was the best i have ever recieved anywhere. An amazing dining experience all around from appetizer to dessert. Will definately be coming back and definately be recomending to family and friends.

The food is fantastic! The cesear salad is so good, probably the best Ive ever had. The firecracker chicken wraps are to die for. After dinner we went outside for a smoke, and when we returned our table had been cleared so the waitress apologized, gave us a new table and new drinks. The people who work there are so friendly, I will definitely be back.

My husband and I have been a customer at the Oak on March Road since the first day they opened their doors. We have been patrons ever since, loved the staff for their friendly attitude, and the way they have cared over the years for their clients. Today this atmosphere has not changed and the staff, although younger are ever so caring and warm towards their customers.
