George Lyberopoulos was a previous client here and had experience of his own in the pizza-making industry. He took over Pizzeria Van Horne in 2001 from the original owner who had set up shop in 1983, sticking to the original recipes and in-house approach to pizza-making, loved by customers that come back again and again from as far as Montreal’s West Island, for this authentic pizza they have come to love.
“We make pizza the old-fashioned way,” he says. “We make our own dough and sauce and there’s no conveyer belt.”
The restaurant’s set-up and decor tell the same story, with several tables, stacks of pizza boxes, and a box full of rosy tomatoes in sight. The front oven and work counters are right behind the client counter and you will find the team of employees working from scratch to transform yummy whole ingredients into sizzling pizza pies and pizza slices.
OMG. I went to heaven when I tasted this pizza. I watched the dudes make my pizza in front of me using really fresh ingredients. I have been searching for the best pizza in MONTREAL and THIS IS IT!!!! I am hooked - can't wait to come back!!!
