It was on a business trip to Montreal that Louis Ménard met his soon-to-be wife, Johanne Pomerleau. He was working in the banking industry, and she in fashion with a dream of opening her own store. Together, the two began putting pen to paper as Louis helped Johanne turn her vision into a solid business plan that would soon earn the couple government financing for their idea.
Then, in 1995, on Bernard Street in Outremont, Bijoux L'Inédit was born. "From the beginning, the aim was to offer hidden treasures ― jewellery and accessories that were unique and beautiful, but hard to find in the city," explains Louis. "We hand-picked items from around the globe according to the latest fashion trends and made them available in the store at prices accessible to anyone."
This quaint shop still attracts a loyal following of jewellery enthusiasts and stylish dressers who turn here for the "rare gems" of fashion and jewellery that the boutique has become known for.
