Come enjoy a yummy dish at Restaurant Amaranto. Their atmosphere has been described as casual. They gladly provide a take-out menu and are open after-hours from Tuesday to Sunday. Payments by MasterCard, Interac and Visa are recognized.
Originally from Mexico City, Amaranto restaurant owners Adrian and Berenice Becerzil arrived in Montreal back in 2004. The couple had always thought of opening a restaurant, and the opportunity arose when a friend of theirs was selling a location on Monkland in Nôtre-Dame de Grâce. “We figured, there’s no harm in going to see it, and by the end of our visit, we just went for it!” explains Berenice.
Adrian has a background in photography and Berenice is a formally trained chef. Her love of cooking arose when she was a young girl back in Mexico. “It is traditional. Young women learn to cook at a young age in Mexico, to help our mothers in the kitchen.” When they opened their restaurant in 2007, Berenice taught her husband everything there was to know about cooking authentic Mexican food. “We work well as a team,” she adds, “and Adrian takes wonderful photos of our food.”
