Lakshana's Chettinad Restaurant welcomes you to their dining room. You can get there not only by public transit but also by bicycle. They are in a quiet surrounding acknowledged for its grassy spaces.
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is home to an authentic, traditional and family-run Indian restaurant, Lakshana's Chettinad. Sasikumar Panchatcharam became interested in the restaurant business back in his country of birth, India. He and his mother had dreamed of opening a restaurant and making a living from their shared passion for cooking. "When my mother joined me in Montreal, we agreed to open Lakshana's Chettinad," says Sasikumar. Since April 4, 2016, they've made it their goal to raise awareness across the city of the traditional cuisine of their hometown.
It was Sasikumar's daughter, Lakshana who inspired the restaurant's name. Chettinad is a city in the state of Tamil Nadu, where the owner was born and whose healthy and spicy cuisine is famous throughout the world. "I don't cook, but I've always had a passion for the industry. That said, my mother is an excellent chef!" says Sasikumar. Today, the restaurant owner even has the invaluable help of his brother Sugumar in the kitchen.
