My girlfriend took me to Coquine for my birthday and we had a great time. Anyone looking for a peaceful and private dinner should look elsewhere. However, if you're interested in great food, a friendly environment, and a restaurant that has some life to it (reminiscent of one you'd find in Europe), then definitely check it out. I ordered the cassoulet and it was outstanding. We went on a Saturday night and were told that some weeknights have a bit more of a bar atmosphere.
Girls' night out at Coquine was fabulous! Eight of us went for a birthday and the food was delicious. I had mushroom ravioli and lemon creme brulee. Several of us had the steak frites and loved it. Wines were not cheap, but this is Toronto after all. We really enjoyed the food, service was pretty good considering the crowd, and it was Saturday night. I would definitely return!
It was loud and food was not "all that". Wine list was fair but overall I wasn't impressed
This is a great new restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent and a real enjoyable place to eat. The cassoulet was fantastic, very authentic. My girlfriend had the coquine salad which was excellent and the salmon which was very tasty. The frites are to die for. The portions are well sized. The service wasn't amazing but it was pretty busy. It is tight in there but if you don't mind a cozy setting then it is nice. Overall, very nice, quailty food, affordable priced, definitely worth a try, i'd visit again.

A midtown must, Coquine feels lived-in. It’s interior, inflected with winks of art deco, is welcoming and always obscured by the crowds of patrons who treat this bistro as a second home. The French menu conjures up the best hearth and home sensations with entrées like cassoulet and pasta dishes such as linguini aux fruits de mer. Mondays are oyster nights at Coquine, which always brings the crowd. Did someone say Monday happy hour?

This bistro offers a distinctly Parisian setting against an art deco backdrop that is oh-so European. Choose from high-quality ingredients in small bites to share, mains or a set menu. And if you want to turn up the heat even more, check out Oyster Mondays ($2.50 per oyster or $14.50 for 12), because oysters are known for their aphrodisiac properties, after all.
