Do you ever crave good old hearty spaghetti and meatballs and wonder why you rarely see it on an Italian menu anymore? Look no further; this staple dish from Italy has had pride of place on the menu at Regina Trattoria and Pizzeria for decades alongside a delectable array of Southern Italian tried and tested favourites. All are dishes from where owner Livio Balzamo and his family hail."It’s all food that I ate when I was a child,” he says. “It’s what my mother cooks."
Livio goes round to his parents every Sunday with his siblings for lunch to sup on mom's divine dishes, then he opens for the evening trade at his restaurant."Regina’s is all about traditional food," Livio says.
Tasty pasta dishes, rustic pizzas that look like they've just arrived from Italy by special delivery, antipasti and delicious Italian desserts are on Livio's menu. You can enjoy it all in a welcoming Italian-style restaurant complete with white table cloths and sparkling wine glasses. In summer there's seating for seven on the patio. "We have the French doors open in the warm weather so even if you're inside, it's like you're outdoors."

Great pasta and pizza
My family and I go for almost every special occasion. It's funny because we share tastes of our meals but everyone ALWAYS gets the exact same thing...without fail. There's a lot to be said that. We order in regularly and visit every couple of months. Love this place!!
took my friend loved evrythink and going back is must
I work and live in the area have been going to this restaurant for about 7 years now. Lunch and dinners have always been delicious. Even the boss has made our christams dinner a permanent spot EVERY year there. the service is warm and friendly but does get busy towards dinner times. If you are planning on visting must try's are the: ceasar salad and the bruschetta, penne all regina is one of my fave's grilled veggies and chicken in a rose cream sauce. BEST italian restaurant on college by far.
Dropped in while waiting for my glasses next door. Recommended by the staff. Lovely, little spot. Waiter was a pleasure to talk to and food was very good considering I don't eat meat. Will definitely return.
Took my sweetie there yesterday for Valentines Day! He loved it. Food was good and service was excellent.
Haven't been here in a while since I moved out of the area. Loved my pizza!!!!! Can't wait till I'm back in Toronto.
When with 8 of my friends for a birthday party. We ate a lot of food. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Homemade food just like nonna makes! Can't wait to go back.
Great little spot. Enjoyed the food and my date liked it a lot too.
Bad service, amazing food. The chef was really nice so I tipped him, however the owner wasn't a nice guy.
Great little place away from all loud and over-priced College 'strip' places. Food was very good! Everyone really enjoyed themselves and service was GREAT. Will definitely be back.
food is great, consider this place for take-out too. ambience is cozy, dim lighting, not recommended for large groups though...definitely going back...yum!
Very good food in a nice, little place. My guest also had a good time. Would definitely go back!

Regina Trattoria is an elegant and romantic restaurant located in Little Italy. The restaurant serves Italian dishes so authentic that you’ll forget you're in Toronto! The lasagna is stacked high and filled with all the usual suspects - tomato sauce, 100 per cent beef, parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
View this Smart ListThis is a gastronomic wonder in Little Italy. Since 1967, Regina has been serving simple Italian food to locals and visitors alike. The word “trattoria” signifies an Italian restaurant that serves simple food, but your tastebuds will disagree with the simple aspect at Reina – especially after biting into the Quattro Formaggi: boccocini, gorgonzola, parmigiano and mozzarella grace this cheesy delight.
