Top Notch Service and Food. I have eatten at a lot of restaurants and I have to say this restaurant offers first class service all the way. Incredible service and the food was fantastic.. Flor De Sale delivered that all the way. We shared the Mushroom Tasting Plate which was very nice and for entree we both had the Cataplana which was fantastic. For desert we had Flourless Salted Chocolate Torte and Lemon Vanilla Cheesecake. I highly recommend this place you won't be disappointed.
Went with high expectations as I had heard some good things about this place. I had chicken salad as appetizer, which was one of the best chicken salads I had ever had. I would have rated this restaurant a 10 if it was only for that piece. The steak I had for main was done exactly the way I wanted, but it was a bit too salty.. Dessert was alright.. The service was ok.. but could see some improvement, which I expect from any restaurant with this price range. Someone down here mentioned lots of free parking.. I couldn't find any parking around this restaurant, so I parked at a building (Toronto Archives) nearby.. Anyhow, the experience was great overall, mainly thanks to their great food.
We had 18 in our party. The ages of our guests were 25-60. Many of the entrees were ordered off of party menu #4. Everyone remarked about the excellent food and service. The arugula salad was the popular appetizer of the night and the steak was done to everyones liking. Nice cozy rooms. Lots of free parking.
Food was good, but watch out for "cheap trick" charges! They charged for hot water, $2 per person (comes out as "Hot H2O service" on your bill), and $3 to split any appetizers. We were not cheap patrons by any means, but this was the first time we had not ordered wine here (my bf was recovering from a cold, and the room was very cold), maybe that made the difference but it really shouldn't have. We had appetizer, 2 of the most expensive mains, and a dessert. The $6 extra they charged us were spare change, but the principle of it, and to not say anything at all. I thought providing hot water was part of the normal service of a restaurant. We tipped them as normal and bid this restaurant adieu. I will not be returning.
