That they don’t take takeout over the phone you have to go there and order at the bar and then wait however long it took we were told 30 mins and it took over an hour for our take out to be ready
Went to the Keg for an anniversary dinner. The restaurant was very busy and somewhat noisy that's my only issue. Other than that the food was fantastic, the server was very pleasant & the overall visit was great. We will be back.
We had a great meal at the Keg in Sudbury. The food was excellent, as was the service. A great experience all around. Our server, Chad, was very personable, knowledgeable and friendly.
I've been to the KEG in Toronto many times over the years and the food and service has always been outstanding. But, NOT the Keg in Sudbury! The steaks were no better than you'd get at Joe's Northern Diner, and the service - well I guess you could call it Northern Ontario service (: I'm surprised Keg corporate let's them get away with lower standards. Maybe they just can't get the quality of waitresses and cooks in this area.
We took the family out. My husband, father-inlaw and I had steak, it was good but it didn't "wow" me. The veggies were a little sparse. MY mother in law had a chicken dish (not sure what is was called) She enjoyed it. Again though this is another one of those restaurants that charges high prices because they can.
Granted that this is a bar as well as a restaurant so if you want a quiet place to cuddle and snuggle this is not it. Unless you book the entire place to yourself. However the service was excellent, our waitress was even more amazing and was very knowledgeable about not only the food but wines as well. It is fairly close to to where you would want a restaurant that has this kind of great food. Conversation is a bit loud as everyone attempts to talk over everyone else besides that small inconvienence I would recommend this location to anyone who want great food with great friends and awesome staff to be at their beck and call.
I truly enjoy a night out at the Keg. I know it is in the higher price range, but the food is always great and the service is wonderful. I get to eat here about 3 times a year and I really wish it was more! I have been with my husband several times and then as a large group. I much prefer to have an intimate night with my husband because the atmosphere is a great get a way for us! As for people who complain about the chicken or under cooked beef, your taste buds are messed, you should not order chicken at a steak house, and you should never over cook beef, if you want to eat well done beef stay home, and wreck it yourself!
Brought the girl to the Keg. She doesn't care for beef so she had the chicken, and I think she liked it. I was in a tuna mood so I had the tuna appetizer and the entree. Both were delicious. The entree, however, had the bloodline still attached which was unpleasantly fishy. The rice was fine. The atmosphere is conflicting. Very dark, relaxed look but it is always packed so it's very loud. I did not remember the exact names of my orders so I didn't write them down.
My husband and I have now been to the Keg twice now and we are not impressed. Last time we went I asked to receive my steak medium which is suppose to be pink but came back to me rare, second time back was still too bloody, we have a different understanding of what pink seems to be. You dont get anything extra for being at an expensive more upscale restaurant like free bread... and the portions are small, the food is just ok but the service and the ambiance is very good. They ended up paying for my meal since the steak was so undercooked the first time.
We don't go to the Keg every month, but manage to dine there 3 or 4 times per year. We have always been well-pleased with both the food and service. Our latest visit was for granddaughter's birthday and the waiter was exceptional, as was the food! Some of the neighbouring tables were quite loud, but we can't fault the restaurant for people without manners.
We were herded to a tiny table, flanked by tables on all four sides. Felt like cattle. Next table neighbors looking over your food, listening in on your conversation..by no fault of their own. Just no room! Kids crying, jostling, bumping...hated every second.
the keg in sudbury enjoys some good reputation but cannot live up to it... the food was exelent and the service was good accurate and quick, but the portions are on the smaler side, especially considering the prices. the atmosphere was noisy and hectic, wich made a casual conversation impossible. they apear to try to come acros as an upperclass steak house and bar, but as far as i am concerned they need to live up theire game.
Prime rib low very quality, in excess of 40% fat and grissel. Waitress was told of alergies but choose to ignore request. Still brought food with green and red peppers mixed in. Steak was overcooked and Prime rib under cooked. Highly overated and excessively pricey!
The striploin was not of good quality - very chewy and filled with gristle. One of the worst Keg experiences regarding quality of meat served.
Overpriced, Overpretentious, Overcooked, Overhyped. Not interested in going back. Steak was MR came out WD, wrong sides, Appetizer took 30 minutes to come out...only 12 or so tables in house at the time. Service terrible...reminded server about wine twice only to have him bring wrong bottle, finally get right bottle, he breaks the cork in it. I'll bypass the keg anytime.
I believe that the Keg is a very classy restaurant, the food is very good, the management is great, the service is good however there were way too many plates and glasses left on our table, which made it uncomforatable when our server braught us our bill. I noticed that the Keg does have buss people/bussers (?) but it should be the servers jobs to clean off our table before we leave. BTW what is up with just a TOMATO (with cheese!) showing up on my plate? Am i suppose to eat that?
By far the best food and service I have had in Sudbury.
First Time to The Keg in Sudbury. Outstanding food and service!
The experience was great, we were greeted by a freindly smile and the whole restaurant seemed to be working as a team to make our experience a good one. Food was delicious, good to see a restaurant that acutally know what a medium rare is and try the mashed potatoes. I will definitly be back.
Well from the moment i walked through the door till the moment i walked out i was satisfied. The hostess were freindly in thier greeting and directed us to bar to wait on the other couple joining me and my wife. The bartender was hillarious ,Chis i think his name was, entertained us until our company arrived and once shown to our table were really impressed with the knowlege i server displayed as well as being entertaining ,the food was perfectly timed and was all delicious .You could definitly tell the entire staff was excellently trained.the only negative part was a visit from and akward gentelman (manager i think ,Rick or something like that)server wass doin a great job and felt more annoyed at having a phoney mangaer stop by to interupt but all and all it was amazing will be back!!
