Durham Christian Bookstore is not about us. It is about the incredible provision and favor towards us from God, our Father, power and strength given to us by our Lord Jesus, and the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit throughout. We thank God for providing a place in this community that we have been asked to serve for over 25 years.

1985: Having received a prompting by the Holy Spirit years earlier, God gave owners Bill and Sharon VanDerHerberg the opportunity to purchase the property at 151 Liberty St. S., Bowmanville Durham Christian Bookstore now resides. 1989: Durham Christian Bookstore opened in the fall of 1989. Bill attended the Christian Bookseller’s Association Conference for the first time. 1998: Durham Christian Bookstore undergoes a major expansion. 2004: We become the depot for Operation Christmas Child for Durham Region East. 2014: We celebrated 25 years in Christian retail!
