First experience with this place. Lovely restaurant in general, food was fantastic! However, waitress hovered over, and repeatedly visited table during our meal which was quite disruptive, and eventually advised that her manager requested we finish up as they needed the table. Not impressive at all for a first experience and would definitely not return to this restaurant no matter how good the food is, as the service is rushed and non-hospitable. Thanks for the 1 x visit.

"absolutely delizioso"

OMG this is one of the best restaurants i have eaten at in a long time. i am extremely picky about pasta restaurants, bc even though it is cheap to make pasta. i find most restaurants cannot get it right. pasta too salty, over cooked, over load of sauce, minimal and cheap ingredients, etc. brithday dinner for my boyfriend's 29th. small cozy table in the corner just the two of us. great decor, beautiful live music playing, low lighting, very clean atmosphere, waiter was actaully Italian. he greeted and responded with italian...his thick italian accent almost didn't understand what he was saying. he made recommendations on wine and beer. i had the Chardonnay by beringer and my bf has a german beer. he was very helpful and told us about the daily specials and put our napkins on our laps. FOOD appetizer: oh gosh where do i start. we order the special appetizer (not on reg. menu) which was slightly grilled top surface of buffalo mozzarella with grilled heirloom baby tomatoes and arugula greens. it was perrrrfect and amazing. the cheese melted in your mouth and the baslamic was just enough not over powering, but enough sprinkles to bring out the sweet tomatoes. 2nd appetizer: garlic and white wine mussels. my boyfriend was in heaven. they gave us a huge mount of mussels and every single shell had a mussel and none where floating around in the broth. the broth was so delicious the flavorful white wine, lots of garlic and a bit of zingy from the fresh ground pepper. my brother was drinking the broth after we were done. the mussels were perfectly cooked succulent and meaty. none were over cooked, dried or closed. the best was having a mussel with a scoop of brother and a sip of wine afterwards. literally HEAVEN in your mouth. my bf said if he could eat this all over again he would entree: he order fettucine (it came with grilled chicken, garlic, artichokes, olives, cream, etc. it was his third fave out of everything we immensely enjoyed. the portion was a bit smaller than he would like, but he devoured the entire plate i ordered the angels hair with tiger shrimp. oh baby where do i start? the shrimps were enormous i think they were more prawns. goodness cooked to utter perfection so succulent, sweet and you could taste the grilling. normally when restaurants grill seafood the edges have a slight burnt and it can get rubbery. NO WAY this place cooked it perfectly in fact the faces burst in my mouth when i bit into it. i had good portion 5 and gave 2 to my bf which i regret now. the angel hair for me was a bit over done. but im a el el el dente kinda girl (no one likes it the way i do). the sauce was fresh with tomatoes and the most amazing thing happened when i dug into my pasta there was steam that came out. amazing it was cooked fresh!!! you have to try this. i absolutely feel in love. it was soooo good dessert: we decided why stop here my as well try their dessert. bf got the tiramisu- amazing again. i think it was the best tiramisu i'd ever eaten. real tiramisu is a mission to find. sweet, juicy and flavorful of coffee and brandy or rum....yum-o me: i got the classic creme brulee. it was very tastey with a hint of lemon, but the texture was a bit too runny for me. by mid bottom it was like a liquid. i prefer a custard like texture. overall: delicious. i totally RECOMMEND this place. grab a friend, take your family or go with your partner. enjoy the tastey food trattoria timone offers. don't forget to make a reservation!!!

Lovely authentic Italian cuisine! Great Service. Love that you can...

I have dined at Trattoria many times with my family. We normally drive 40 minutes each way to eat at Trattoria. Trattoria IL Timone is one of our favorite eatery. It does not stop to amuse me, how clean, awesome service and tasty food is. I recommend this place to every one; you will not regret your decision to eat at Trattoria.

Foodies Unite! You're Going to Love This One!

My husband and I discovered Trattoria Timone quite by accident this past Friday night and we are so happy that we did! We had gone to a film at the AMC right beside it and were looking to grab a nice dinner later in the evening. On a whim, we stopped at the new Trattoria Timone, not knowing anything about the restaurant other than the atmosphere looked charming and judging by the name they served Italian cuisine. What a wonderful discovery. The moment we read the chef's note on the menu we knew we were in for a treat. Chef Michel Fronteddu uses organic, free range and wild products, and the food is prepared fresh, onsite daily. No frozen and reheated dishes here! We began with the grilled calamari, served witha sweet green onion aioli and babi greens. The sweet green onion aioli is delicious with the calimari, which was succulent and perfectly cooked. The balsamic vinagrette atop the baby greens was a wonderful compliment to the dish. My husband ordered the Lobster Agnolotti special, a handmade, round ravioli from the Piedmont region of Italy, stuffed with lobster in a beautiful vodka rose sauce. The aroma alone was phenomenal, the pasta, again perfectly cooked, and the fresh basil made all the difference in the world. I had the Jumbo Seafood Ravioli. This too was better than I would ever have imagined. A large, single ravioli filled with more succulent fresh seafood than is often found in several such dishes. East coast lobster, tiger shrimp and sea scallops, all perfectly cooked within the ravioli, complimented with basil, tomato, white wine cream sauce and a mozzerella crust. So good I may be hard pressed to try anything else, though I'd love to try everything! The wine list too is exceptional. We will be dining there again and again, and telling our friends. Trattoria Timone is the first restaurant that has made me race to review it in ages. It's right beside the movie theatre and a perfect spot to enjoy a whole evening with family, friends, or someone special. It is so rare these days to find exceptional restaurants in the suburbs. We are often inundated with chains, serving us food that's decent but not fabulous, until we become accustomed to it and call it grand. This restaurant is a gem and oasis amidst all that. You will not be disappointed if you try it.

In a word; WOW

This place completely exceeded expectations. The minute you walk in the door, the beautiful and very friendly hostesses greet you. Once you are at the table, the charismatic wait staff takes your order. When the food (Oh, the food!) shows up, it's nothing short of spectacular. The Wine list has some good variety that would suit almost anyone's taste. If in Oakville, and looking for a great meal, with plenty of great atmosphere and staff, go here!

When I first sat myself, I was impressed with the upscale atmosphere. The dim restaurant was tastefully decorated! Initially, we were seated at a large table and 1 person couldn't attend, so by request, we were moved to a smaller table without incident. At the large table, we were given a 2-hour limit, but after we were moved, that limit was removed, so we were happy. Knowing that these kind of restaurants can be expensive, I did try to plan my meal ahead of time by looking through the online menu. However, the actual menu was slightly different. You can get a feel for the restaurant, without spending too much, if you don't order wine and eat pizza. The waiter may make you feel guilty, but it's your money! I skipped out on the usually overpriced wine and got fettuccine ($20) with roasted chicken, sundried tomatoes, and white wine sauce. On the menu, it was just called FETTUCCINE. I wished that I had ordered something else 'cause it seemed like something that I would be able to cook at home. Everyone else's food did look good and homey. After we were brought our aps, in a timely manner, it took quite some time for our mains to arrive. I would say about 20 mins. However, I wouldn't complain too much unless the food was terrible! If money wasn't an issue, Trattoria Timone is a nice place to dine out for an intimate dinner. It has an upscale feel and it's not downtown!

My husband and I visited on a Sunday. The greeting and service experience were mediocre at best. When we arrived at the front doors, the hostess was texting on her cell phone, and continued to finish her text before greeting us. We were then giving a table in the front of the restaurant, which was fine although the back looked much nicer. Our server was fine, although seemed distracted by other staff members. We came around 8 oclock and seemed to be one of the last tables to leave. The longer the night went on, the more staff accumulated at the bar for drinks, and the service got a little slower. Ultimately we went there to Eat, and thankfully the food was great. My husband and I both had pasta's, my husband had a seafood vongole or something of the sort, and i had Chicken Fettucini alfredo. It was cooked to perfection! My husband loved his pasta so much that he had to send his compliments to the chef, who was a young latin american fellow at that time. ( I appologize I cannot recall his name ) If the food wasn't so good, we probably would not return, but we will be coming back just for those pasta's! Food was great! Service needs improvement!

Wow!

This is my favorite restaurant in the world! Unfortunately, since I live in Michigan, I don't visit as often as I'd like and I haven't been there since they moved off Lakeshore in downtown Oakville. The food and service are outstanding and the variety is refreshing. As I write this, I'm mentally planning a visit to friends in Toronto so I can go back. I'm glad to see from the reviews that Steve, my favorite server, is still there. I remember driving there from a business trip in Markham and one of my co-workers thought we were crazy driving about an hour for dinner; half way through the meal he said it was well worth it.

move back to downtown Oakville!

meet a colleague for lunch - it was so loud in there - the acoustics are awful - you can't really have a conversation in there - more like a shouting match. We ordered our lunch - the waitress came back to say they didn't have the pulled pork. So settled for the fettucine - it was ok - nothing special. The soup was good - the salad was awful - it was like an ice cream scoop of goat cheese on a mushroom. The food was much better when they were at the smaller venue in downtown Oakville.

This restaurant was recommended to us from a friend. We came in from Toronto, and we were completely amazed by the restaurants L'ambience. It is decorated with beautiful handpainted Italian murals, the lighting is just right. It is a warm and inviting environment. Fromt the moment we sat down, we were immediately welcomed by a very professional waiter (Steve). He recommended the bruschetta to start which was over flowing with flavour, and then I had the grilled calamari. I had never tasted calamari this way before. It was so tender and full of flavour. Then I had the beef tenderloin with a mushroom and madiera sauce. Unbelievable!!! My stomach was so full, but I wanted to lick my plate clean. I am already making plans with my family for our next visit! Keep up the great service and great culinary delights!!!!!1

My 3rd and last time at this restaurant. I haven't been able to figure out what all the fuss is about. The food is good but not great at all. The warm goat cheese salad was a huge piece of goat cheese on a bed of greens. It didn't come with crackers or bread to spread it on and it wasn't warm. Same with my pizza. It was tasty enough, but luke warm. Service was slow and not very friendly.
