Called in Order for Pickup. Was told 20 Min. I arrived 15 mins later only to be told it would be about 15 mins. Went back into the car to wait.... Went back in 10 mins later and was told it would be 10 mins. No very convenient especially if ordering for a Family OR if you have people over. Don't really care at this moment if it is good or not. If you can't service... further issues will arise. The first thing I saw when I liked down towards the kitchen was a Microwave. Hmmm this is going to be interesting. I didn't even order a large order. Haha. Sad state. Good luck
This was the first and last time that we will order from this restaurant. It was a delivery order and food arrived barely warm. Had to re-heat to make it edible. Ordered the Chicken with Spicy Peanut Sauce, a so-called House Specialty. Bland, tasteless and unappetizing to look at in a watery brown sauce. Not sure if we were really eating chicken! Noodles were OK but overcooked with too much salt and not enough spice.
For a place that likes to tout publicly that they are "the best of the best", offer "a dining experience" and have the "best" Chinese food in Oakville/Burlington you'd think you would get good food right? Wrong. The Calgary crispy chicken was so over cooked it was tough and inedible and the sauce which was like thick, black sludge was disgusting. The shrimp fried rice was dry and the shrimp were so small and few they were hardly noticeable. Basically we paid $9 for a pile of rice. Spring rolls were soggy. The Peking duck portion at $21.99 was disappointingly small and would barely feed one person. The only highlight, if you could even call it that, was the wonton soup but it was hardly anything to write home about.
Waiting over 45 minutes for fast food...I think not again! Ordered only 3 dishes and found telephone orders and walk-ins picking up their meals way before mine. I was told it would be 25 minutes, but it was closer to 50 minutes til I got my meal. Terrible!
I used to go here and eat in when they were on Kerr but the location closed. The take out now from the Glen Abby area is mediocre. I agree with the other reviewers of late. It used to be excellent but now the meat is sparse and of a lesser quality and things are doughy and deep fried. Orange chicken was a huge disappointment. For the price, I would go to one of the other new Chinese places to order out.
We use this chinese restaurant because it is close. The Chicken Balls have improved over the past year. They used to be overcooked but now are like usual chicken balls. We usually order the spicy beef, which is good. Overall this is a bit higher quality chinese then the cheaper restaurants...however you do pay! Not the cheapest Chinese restaurant. Overall....okay for the quick fix...and tastey, but not the cheap!
Red Chillie has been our favourite take out for many years. It's been awhile since we've been there last, and we were so disappointed. The flavour is still wonderful, but the cut of meat they are now using is very disappointing. The pieces of meat are larger but tougher. The BBQ Pork is normally made with pork shoulder, the pork used reminded me more of a pork loin. Little flavour and dry. The hunan beef was also very chewy, next time I would use a fork and knife instead of my chopped sticks. I'm not sure if Management has changed but for us it's time to explore other Chinese takeouts, as Red Chillie has lost alot of it's authentic charm!
Egg rolls were good but that's about it. The rest of the food, including steamed rice tasted like left overs. The quality has certainly deteriorated. It's precooked food with sauce poured over it. Orange shrimps used to be nicely sauted now they are breaded & deep fried with awful dark sauce. Will not order from this place again.
Food was really tasty. Service was great. Nice atmosphere. Good prices.
their food is amazing and the owners are busy, but extremely friendly. we have been a fan since they opened and continue to go back again and again, we wouldn't order from anywhere else.
As a Chinese person, I must say that this is a GREAT Chinese restaurant. The ambiance is great, the service was amazing. The food, I consider to be very high quality! They have their own dim sum chef. I highly recommend their won ton soup. Try something new each time you go! You won't be disappointed. I did find the prices to be higher than what I am used to, but I can't complain cause I live so close to them and they deliver!
The Tofu dishes are delicious, the take out service is quick, but a few times they have given me chicken instead of tofu by accident. the tofu is so delicious though that i keep going back.
Expensive and they do not open after 1pm. The taste of food was mediocure.
I'm a Chinese from Taiwan. I went there o Mom's day. It's good service, pretty fast indeed. However the food was just average (teast like other chinese restaurants), nothing special, the price was resonable in Oakville. Recommend for westerners who are not so serious, or never try authentic chinese cuisines before. Ended up with fortune cookie like other North American Chinese restaurants
The food was awful. It was not a busy night in fact only 8 people in the the restaurant. We were rushed. The noise of the clatter of dishes you could not hear conversation at the dinner table. Just dreadful service and dreadful food.,
I am very disappionted, take so long to get the food. Very poor customer service..
