Ok fine, the atmosphere isn't what you call "good". However, the food is actually quite good. The soup/ramen is tasty, the service is quite good. (they even welcome you by saying hello in Japanese and bye in Jap when you leave!)
I was hoping to have some delicious authentic ramen, but I did not find it at Ajisen Ramen. It was very busy inside, and quite dirty. The service was prompt and polite, but that didn't make up for the rest of the poor dining experience. We ordered the fried chicken ramen. The chicken had an ok flavour, but was all dark meat, full of cartilage. Not a pleasant texture at all. The soup was even worse. It had a strange pink milky cloudiness to it that I was hoping was miso, but it wasn't the same. It was very bland and the noodles itself were the worst! They were nothing more than dried spaghetti noodles that you find in and every day grocery store. They weren't cooked very well either, under done and very starchy. I obviously had skewed expectations for this place as I expected so much more. This is more like a really less than mediocre fast food place rather than a nice authentic ramen restaurant. If you want bland, poorly cooked spaghetti in cloudy flavourless water, then give Ajisen a try, but if not, just save yourself the money and buy the 39cent stuff in the package at your local grocery store.
This restaurant prepares the food quickly and quietly for you and in front of your eyes! The atmosphere is highly vibrant and colourful and that before you go in the restaurant, they display their pricing outside the door. They not only sell Ramen but beef Teriyaki, egg rolls and other delicious items that I have never tried before. Check it out! And don't listen to Carmen, cause I know him personally and he is trying to ruin Ajisen's business. If you don't believe me then go over that Ajisen Ramen location and see it for yourself!
MSG soup, taste bad, it comes with an egg and it looks like it'd been putting in the restaurant for ages. You can expect very salty soup and even more salty food there.
