I love their pizza! Cooked to perfection and paired well with the wine recommendation from the server. Thanks! Ill be back
The restaurant is a nice addition to Lindsay however the food is average by any standard. I was most disappointed by the use of dry food service pasta as I would expect any reputable Italian restaurant to use fresh made pasta. Wait staff is pleasant and helpful however nothing was done when I mentioned my dish (sweet potatoes in particular) were inedible due to too much salt. The menu on their webpage is not current with that in the restaurant (why have a web menu if its not updated). The extensive wine list was a nice surprise but probably not enough to take me back again.
Went there for the first time for my birthday and was very disappointed that the menu they gave did not match their website menu. I was prepared for Rack of Lamb (on website) and they didn't have it. When I asked, the server said they change their menu every couple of months. (Why can't a website be updated in that long period of time?) Had to settle for Braised Lamb (potroasted cheap cut of lamb) as I was longing for lamb for my birthday. They don't have mint sauce which was really missed! (How can a place who advertises lamb not have a nice mint sauce?) It was just o.k. Not the dinner quality I'd expect from a place like this, especially for those prices.
It was our first visit to Pane Vino and we will certainly return. The food was excellent. Had the mushroom soup - we all agreed it was the best we've ever had from any restaurant anywhere! Followed by pasta with shrimp - again excellent. The raspberry cheesecake for dessert was so good. We had the best table in the house - right up by the window. Unfortunately, there was a large birthday party in attendance that was seated behind us which made our conversation quite difficult. Not the restaurant's fault - you only turn 30 once! Anyway, I'd certainly recommend it for anyone who wants to try the absolutely best food. It's fairly pricey (our bill was $100 for 2) but we'll be back!
This restaurant is definitely for anyone who appreciates good food made with attention to detail and impeccably served. My appetizer of cheese stuffed gnocchi wrapped with seared proscuitto were savoury and rich in a flavourful tomato sauce. My perfectly cooked risotto had large tender chunks of lobster in it. The tiramisu was light and creamy. Our server was friendly and helpful, willing to answer our questions. While this restaurant may be a little expensive, it was definitely worth it.
We were visiting Lindsay from T.O. this weekend and just happened upon this beautiful Trattoria. We couldn't believe a place like this was in lindsay, it could be anywhere, Toronto, Montreal, New York. Great vibe and feeling, as the place was jammed . We ordered wine on the Sommeliers recommendation , we loved it! Now about the food...We were surprised by how great everything tasted that we ordered! A big WOW! The caprese was amazing, fresh tomatos and basil, rigatoni with the 4 cheese sauce was to die for, my wife's Filet was amazing.Everything here is fresh! The bread and olive oil was good too! As I said we were pleasantly surprised and would love to tell everyone what a great find this palce is! We will be back! Dessert was excellent, we had the Tiramisu, as the servers other recommendation was the cheesecake(sold out) Atmosphere is great!! Servers were prompt and professional. We have been coming up this way for a couple of years, and this place is the best restaurant in the Kawarthas!!!!
I had expected a lot from this restaurant. We had reservations for 8 last night, on the recommendation of my hairdresser( who hadn't been there in a year). What I liked best about the experience was looking at the beautiful old brick wall that runs down one side, and glows in the lighting. The restaurant was full. Service was fairly prompt and by an unsmiling waitress and she immediately brought bread and oil and vinegar to the table for dipping. I didn't have this but heard by my companions that it was good. I ordered a salad or arugala and pear and the fish. The salad was stringy and tough, the pear very unripe and uncuttable...Something if I tried at home I would throw out. Expecting better from the main course, I was extremely disappointed to find the fish tough, requiring a knife to cut, and the vegetable portions were so small , they were unidentifiable. The bed of lentils... couldn't eat that , tasteless, and maybe only there to fill up the plate for decoration.. I didn't have dessert. We didn't order wine, not being drinkers. The washroom is very beautifully decorated. The clientele seemed to be drinking and having a good time. Cause and effect? They were younger than we were. I believe we expect good food from a restaurant, and we certainly didn't get it here. And, about the coffee.... It tasted so bad, I thought it had been left standing, and asked for another fresh cup. She brought another...the same...and she said there was no cream for my coffee because Italians don't drink cream!!!! to top it off, the diet pepsi was flat. So if you wish to go to this restaurant, go only for the ambience. Anything else is better anywhere else. No, we will never go back. Better value is to be had at most other restaurants.
WOW! what a great restaurant! Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by the owner, and shown to our seats. The decor is beautiful......could this restaurant really be in Lindsay?!?! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and really seem to help each other out. The food and wine are outstanding. We were a party of 4, and each of our selections were so tasty - I can't wait to go back and try more menu items. Thanks for opening in Lindsay - see you again soon!!!!
This place is amazing! I had the pleasure of visiting Pane Vino for the first time on New Years Eve and have never looked back. I try to go as frequently as possible and never miss an opportunity! The service is wonderful - I can't imagine ANYBODY reviewing it badly. The waitresses are all extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine, and are friendly and fast. The owner and chef make regular appearances outside of the kitchen to make sure everybody is happy and to talk to some of the patrons - this gives the place a great personal touch. The decor is very tasteful and soothing, and everything is always spotless. The food is the best part - I've had many of the entrees and I find that each one I like more than the last. The portions are perfect, and the meat is cooked to perfection. There are so many flavours going on, it's hard to decide which I like best! The deserts are to die for, particularly the pumpkin cheesecake. Though this desert is only on the menu seasonally, the maple cheesecake that is presently being offered blows me away as well! I will continue to go to Pane Vino as often as I can, and constantly rave to my friends from out of town that it's my all-time favourite restaurant :) Great job guys!
First of all, I am shocked to see that someone would give this place one star for atmosphere!? have you been? The atmosphere was sleek, modern, beautiful! There are no other restaurants in Lindsay that can compare! The desserts were to die for! Lovely presentation! The best creme brulee and panacotta I've had! The cocktail i had was very yummy, and there was a very impressive wine selection! The service was excellent! Our server was friendly and helpful! The owner brought us some lovely dessert wine, and we even had a visit from the chef! Overall, I had a great experience...I only had a chance to enjoy some wine and cocktails and dessert, but I will definitely be back for dinner soon!
I Ordered the Fillet of Beef medium rare received it well done send it back and got it back medium well Dude in the Kitchen that calls himself an Executive Chef needs some cooking lessons. Dessert had the Creme Brullee the Sugar Crust was so thick you needed a Hammer to get through it . The only thing that was really good was the appetizer but who goes to a Restaurant and pays all that money for an Appetizer . It is over priced for what you get and for the Quality. We won't be going back.
Easily the best restaurant in Lindsay! I've been twice, once with friends and once on a date both times have been exceptional. Amazing Wine list with an excellent selection and organic options. The food was great quality. Very fresh and a lot of local ingredients. Small portion sizes but to be expected from a fine dinning establishment. The Gnocchi was delicious as were the olives, very fresh. The service was great, even though it was very busy we never felt ignored. The Owner and Chef both make appearances in the dinning room and mingle with guests. This is exactly what Lindsay needed. And its the reservatoin only, sold out dinningroom night after night, further emphsizes this.
I was so excited to try this restaurant because I love italian food! The atmosphere is beautiful...it has been very well decorated. I was not impressed by the selection of food. There were only a few appetizers to choose from and no salads or garlic breads to order. I ended up choosing the "marinated olives"...which were nothing to rave about. I then had the tiger shimp pasta....it was lacking flavor. I could have easily cooked up some pasta and shrimp at home and poured some tomato sauce over it...and it would have been equily enjoyable. We ended up spending over $80 for each of us and left still hungry!
