I've been hoping to find a place that does a version of Pad Thai which rivals the Pad Thai that the Thai Terrace (formerly in Mississauga) used to make. We loved the food here (a worthy rival for Ben Thanh just down the road). We will be back a lot in the future...perhaps even tonight as it's directly across Hwy 7 from the Galaxy Theatre complex and we're seeing Jack the Giant Killer.
We ordered the chicken Pho soup tonight along with the deep fried spring rolls and some chicken fried rice. Very good food. Next time we will try to eat-in.
The Pad Thai here is great. Very different and awesome. I also love the G8. Really, everything I've had was delicious. I come here every time I'm in Guelph.
I do business in Guelph. The one place I frequent more than any other restaurant is the Pho Kin Do. The food is consistently good , tasty , clean, fast. My preference is the soup but everything else is well done. The only mistake ever and I can forgive this one is a mixed drink that was incorrectly made due to a language problem. It was fixed immediately. I often recommend to my friends and business aquaintances that they try this place.
Best Pad Thai ever! I loved it. The server was polite, but didn't introduce himself so I didn't get his name. However, when I tasted the Pad Thai, I didn't really care. It was fantastic. If you ever come here, I would highly recommend their Pad Thai. The Spring Rolls are kind of good also.
I don't know what's happened to this place! I've been going there for years, but I'll never go again. It appears to have been taken over by somebody else. Food was awful. Curry was tasteless, so I rang them to complain very politely and the guy I spoke to just hung up. When I rang back, I asked him why he had hung up and he said 'We are closed!" This was at 9-00pm on a Saturday.
Awesome food!! Totally to die for! All the curries are excellent, especially if you order them with tofu!!! I mean, the fried tofu soaks up the curries and tastes divine!! All vegetarian dishes here are exceptional!! The prices are reasonable and the service is prompt! Always have the frshly squeezed sugarcane juice! Divine!
Visited the restaurant around 7pm on a Monday night with 3 friends 2 weeks ago. Overall: A QUIET restaurant with minimal and outdated decor, which serves DESCENT food, with BIG portions (except for Pad Thai) at a RESONABLE price. FOOD: SPRING ROLL: Very crispy and delicious with perfect amount of fillings. Everything in the fillings were finely julienned. SHRIMP PASTE ON SUGAR CANE: The shrimp paste was soggy and lack shrimp flavour but well seasoned. The sugar canes were sweet. The peanut sauce was too strong for the dish, should serve with fish sauce instead. VEMICELLI BOWL W/ SHREDDED PORK, PORK CHOP & SPRING ROLL: large portion with lots of vemicelli, meats and veggies. Tasted very good. RICE PLATTER W/ PORK CHOP & SPRING ROLL: Large portion with good amount of meat. Very tasty. PAD THAI W/ PORK & VEGGIES: Considerably small portion. Still good amount of meat and veggies and good flavour. Vietnamese Crepe: Looks like an omlette with bean sprouts and bbq pork and few shrimp. The crepe texture is like slightly elastic and chewy (in a good way). It was pan fried to golden brown. Very fill pork and shrimp, but lots of bean sprout. The side salad was nice and crisp. Avocado / Coconut / Papaya Shakes: Both avocado and papaya shakes tasted good, but the coconut one lacked flavour. **All shakes were made from powder / frozen concentrate** SERVICE: The food arrived very quickly (15-20 mins after ordered) as there are only 2 other tables present and be served food. The drinks on the other hand took a very long time (30-40 minutes) to arrive, especially when they were made from powder / frozen concentrate.
Pho Kinh Do is probably my favourite Guelph restaraunt! My family and boyfriend go at least once a month. My family is open to new food, but my boyfriend wasn't until we brought him here! He loves the food. Everytime we come we order the same thing. The shrimp pad thai is to die for in my opinion, Fresh Shrimp rolls are great and the peanut sauce is one of my favourites. The shrimp vermacille is wonderful, and I keep hearing raving reviews from them about the dish with oranges, cashews, rice and chicken. I don't recall what it is called but apparently it's great! The atmoshpere is a little tacky, and service can be slow, but it's not going to stop me from coming with my family one day!
Pho Kinh Do has the best Pad Thai you will ever eat. Period. I have scoured cities looking for someplace closer which could compare but alas, I continue to make the trip back time and time again, as nothing ever comes even mildly close to Pho Kinh Do! It is a little spicy so if you don't like the spice, order something else as they have a varied menu which will appease anyone. Even my picky boyfriend this past week-end ordered the basic Chicken Fried Rice and said it was the best he's ever tasted. I could eat at the Pho Kinh Do every night for the rest of my life and die happy. Go and enjoy! I always do!
Always excellent food. Very tasty, freshly cooked and good value. I think whover comes on this forum giving this place a bad review has some other agenda. Polite speedy service. I go regularly and recommend it. Excellent food.
I visit Pho Kinh Do frequently for both lunch and for dinner. The food is excellent, and very consistent. The menu is wonderful in terms of variety and quality of food. The prices are great as well - I seldom spend more than $12 including a tip. If you're looking for "fine dining" type service, you really won't find it here. If you're looking for friendly people who will bring you great food and are very accommodating, you will find it here. This place is all around one of my favorite places to eat in Guelph.
food is very good very fresh and tasty.good value for the money. the servers in this kind of restaurants do not speak good english and they avoid talking to much to the customers because the language barrier not because they are ignoring some one. i own a restaurant in kitchener and go out a lot in my day off. this is the best restaurant thai-viet i tried yet. we drive from kitchener to eat there.i love it. you should try it to.
The food was AWESOME!!! Everything was very fresh and freshly prepared, and you could definitely tell in the taste. The chicken is very nice, big white pieces of meat and is very good. Everything had an awesome flavor, and you get a lot for what you pay. When we first got there, it took a few minutes for them to come get our drink order, but everything else was done promptly, and the servers where very nice. We will be going back soon for sure.
My co-workers and I eat here weekly for lunch. The food is great (good size portions for lunch) the service can be slow at times. I suggest you call and pre-order you food. The service is great! Best Asian food in Guelph!
We often drive across town to this viet-thai restarant even though we live within walking distance of one downtown. Reasonable prices, large portions, fast preparation, and the food is delicious.
going AGAIN tonight for takeout. we love the rice noodle soup (P1)...the kids included! service is slow but worth the wait. take out is always hot and fresh.
I have been numerous times and the food is always excellent, service can sometimes be slow. The prices are very reasonable also.
