Ordered Martin's Portuguese BBQ Chicken/meal from the catering menu for a staff's birthday today. Perfect amount of food, everything was nice and fresh. Went to Martins with a friend for dinner. I had the chicken with potatoes, rice and a salad. Everything was delicious. My friend had the traditional portuguese steak with a fried egg on top which he loved.....said it was tender and tasty. Quick service, Friendly wait staff, nice casual atmosphere, clean.
We rounded out the meal with an expresso and brandy.
If you haven't tried Martin's yet, give it a try...you won't regret it.
I heard about this place from a friend who got catering here a long time ago and told me how busy she remembered the place being, and she raved about the food. How times have changed. When I went to check this place out there wasn't another customer in sight. That should have been my first clue. For my take-out order I got the Portuguese chicken, roasted potatoes, and rice. It was by far the WORST Portuguese chicken I have ever had. The chicken was so dried out that it was not edible, the potatoes were disintegrating, and the rice was dry and tasteless. Even the sauce for the chicken was horrible, it was some kind of vinegar/water concoction. Do not waste your time or money eating here. I am of Portuguese decent myself, and have eaten at many Portuguese restaurants. This one is, by far,the worst I've ever had

This is by far the best Portuguese restaurant in Brampton. I have tried all them because there are so many off main street but I only come back to this one now. My family and friends all go here because the food could not be any better. and they have great prices. The restaurant has take out, a dining room and patio with great music and overall a great atmosphere (I dont know why that person JOE said theres old men at the bar..I never see any there). The service has been the same everytime, AMAZING.. Such nice people. My family has been able to throw the best Christmas and birthday parties because of there excellent catering menu. We've done it all, chicken, rice, potatoes, roast beef, steak, the pastas, seafood, cakes and never a complaint. I reccomend this to anyone in or around Brampton. Beautiful european restaurant( I think its owned by a Croatian family) and they have there recipes to perfection!!! I normally dont review restaurants unless they really impress me like this one on so many occasions. I will be back!
My family and i had a great experience at Martin's BBQ. We held a baptism there with about 25 family members. The staff was very attentive to our requests and the service was amazing. The employees there were so nice and treated my disable father in law with utmost respect. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. We even took the leftovers home! The dessert was to die for. I will definitely return for a special event or for a quiet dinner out with my husband. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants Portuguese food! 5 stars for Martin's!
Great place, have been going here for years. 2 years in a row now for our annual family gathering on Boxing Day we've had it catered through Martins. Staff is very friendly and helpful when trying to figure out what to order. The poster below me said the pieces of chicken were small, thats because they cut them with chicken shears differently from any other restaurant. Instead of a whole chicken coming in quarters (4 pieces) Martins cuts them into 6 pieces.
The dry rub on the chicken is very tasty, and the hot sauce is addictive. Potatoes are great, rice is good, salad was "OK". Either way, its a favorite in this household and we order at least once or twice every month.

Herd of this place from some friends, the food was the best portuguese food i ever had. We were out witrh clients the prices were amazing along with the service and atmosphere, very european.Also just had a party for 80 ppl and ordered seafood and meats every single person went crazy we had to go back and get more!!! This place beats everything from price, food, service, and atmosphere, best restaurant by far!

Bought a bunch of chicken dinners for take out to feed my family. there was no coleslaw, buns utensils and the amount of fries was a joke and the chicken pieces were miniscule. I was almost embarassed to bring these meals home. Never again!
