Well I came to this garden centre for a couple of fruit trees. I purchased a peach and a multi type pear. I called about a month later asking what to do about rust as my pear was infected. I was informed they had been having that problem with the pears and there was another product I needed to purchase to fix it. So they sold me a desiesed tree and told me to come spend mroe money at their store. I have been battling rust on this tree for 3 years now, and I am about ready to kill the tree. Overall, I wasnt happy with this experience.
When I purchesed the trees however, the people running the store seeme lovely, and helpful. Im just annoyed about how the rust situation was dealt with.
We are sorry that you feel that way. Pear tree rust is a huge problem in our area. You purchased your tree 3 years ago, and we try very hard to sell
plants that are not diseased, to the best of our ability, and wouldn't have sold it if it had visible signs of rust. When you phoned, we attempted to
diagnose your problem, which we did, and gave you the solutions to solve the problem, which we would do for any customer. We did not attempt to sell you anything, as we do not normally carry dormant oil sprays, but tried to give you information to a product that could help your tree, and places you could buy the spray. We received pear trees from a supplier this year that looked great when they came in. Only later this season did signs of rust start showing. So you see, this seems to happen to everyone. Again we are sorry that you feel you had a bad experience.
