Vancouver's Original Indian Cuisine Located in the heart of the Punjabi Market (Little India) area of Main Street in South Vancouver, All India Sweets & Restaurant has been serving for over 20 years authentic East Indian delicacies and cuisine in a bright.
Food not well prepared, staff very slow to respond to customers, almost to the point of ignoring them. I am a big fan of good quality Indian food, having grown up eating a lot of it; the food in this restaurant gets 4/10 from me and my husband.
An excellent vegetarian buffet, a few staple dishes are always the same (dahl, aloo gobi, rice pilaf, lots of naan and pappadam) while a few dishes seem to go through a rotation. Dishes often taste a bit different every time, but always are delicious! Nice chai, and awesome gulab jamun for dessert too. The service can be a bit slow, but things have definetly improved over the last few years. A great spot for a yummy, convenient, filling meal.
All India’s large space provides comfortable booths and tables fit for family-sized groups. The restaurant’s speciality is its vegetarian buffet. Indian staples like rajma, chana masala and biryani rice dishes are great choices for a filling meal. The restaurant also offers affordable, high quality samosas, although they aren’t offered under the buffet pricing.
You’ve likely heard of All India Sweets for their stellar (and affordable) all-you-can-eat buffet, but once you arrive here, don’t forget to leave with a package of samosas tucked under your arm for tomorrow’s lunch. This cherished restaurant in the heart of Little India offers two chicken or veggie samosas for less than $5 combined. These tasty morsels are served with curried chickpeas for that extra hit of protein and flavour.
