“At the end of the day, it’s about the end user. It’s about both the students who attend our courses and the employers who need them to have relevant skills,” says Tommy Sangha, owner of Metro Safety Training.
Based on the needs of BC’s occupational sectors, Metro Safety Training is continuously adding new programs to their wide range of first aid, industrial training, occupational health and safety courses. All of the courses are taught by certified instructors.
“It’s a win-win situation. Students know they are going to walk away with employable skills that will help them in their careers in the long term,” says Tommy. “And their employers are slowly recognizing that we teach them the right skills because we care. As a result, we get a lot of return business.”
Some of their corporate clients include Safeway, the City of Burnaby, Ledcor and PCL. “We’re still young, but we’re working with some of the big guys and we’re going to continue to do that,” says Tommy, who founded Metro Safety Training in 2008.
