Though similar in aim and intention, graphic design was a different beast before the computer age, when designers used more glue and paper. When Brenda Epp attained her degree in graphic design, she worked as an in-house designer for a furniture company before deciding to branch out on her own. Here, she used a Macintosh Plus for the very first time.
In 1993, after four years working for someone else, Brenda purchased her own Macintosh Plus and started The Big Idea. “I’ve always loved art, but I decided to go into the advertising side so that I could be my own boss,” she recalls. “When my position ended with the furniture company, I decided to take the opportunity and start my business.”
