The messiest chicken wings in Edmonton
They offer one pound of wings with your choice of interesting sauces. Choices include smoked mustard curry, lemon pepper, salt and pepper (simple but great!) and sweet chili. They also have the old favourites, such as hot, BBQ (regular or whiskey jack BBQ), teriyaki and honey garlic. Regardless of your preference, these are fab.

In Jasper Avenue’s historic pub, The Hat, the aromatic, zesty caesar also comes with bacon. Yes, you read that correctly; a nice, crispy slice of bacon with a wedge of lime adorns this take on Alberta’s signature cocktail. The Hat also offers a fun caesar and sangria hybrid: The Sangcaesar, made with orange juice, clamato, tequila and lime.

Though it's unassuming from the outside, once you’re in The Hat you’ll find atmosphere to spare. The lights glow dimly from the pressed tin ceiling and the wooden bar seems to stretch forever. Choose from a considerable menu of Scotch, rye, whisky and bourbon. The Caribou Crossing is a favourite. For days when both thirst and hunger strike, don't miss the Reuben hot dog with sauerkraut and fried onion strings.
