We had been coming to Remedy on Jasper for a couple of years and havent been comfortable at all. The manager always stares at us. He creeped us out. The food was really expensive and there was nothing that I liked there except their cakes, even if that (most of the time they dont have the kind I love). We tried other coffee places and nothing. Then we tried Remedy Cafe on 124th and it was somewhat better but had a traumatic experience. First of all I sat on pee on the bus, missed my bus stop a

Awesome Edmonton spots for after-work drinks

Awesome Edmonton spots for after-work drinks

If your co-workers or friends can never decide between post-work coffee or after-work cocktails, Remedy Café offers the perfect solution: It is a licensed chai bar, a.k.a. the best idea ever. The Garneau location is always jammed from 4 p.m. onwards to about midnight, with folks winding down after a long day, catching up with friends and throwing back their preferred poison, whether it be a London Fog, a spiked Chai latte or a beer.

Coffee shops on the south side of Edmonton

Coffee shops on the south side of Edmonton

The renovated 109 Street location of Remedy no longer has an upstairs, but the main floor is now open concept, with a lot more seating available. The coffee and chai remain the same as always — delicious, decadent and perfectly consistent. Other coffee shops may waver with their taste and quality, but Remedy never does. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and stay open late (they’re licensed!), so get comfy with some of the cushions they keep by the tables — you’ll be here awhile.
