The Vern's Pizza Company Ltd. began in the year 1990 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The first store was operated out of a convenience store named Vern's Place. Vern's product was customer driven from the beginning. Our pizza is like no other, known for its high quality ingredients from start to finish. With the introduction of pizza by the slice as a meal in itself, the demand began to grow, and so did Vern's name. Soon thereafter it was necessary for the company to franchise. Vern's Pizza grew from its provincial borders and expanded into Alberta. We have two locations in Calgary now. One is in the south east at #27, 575-28th Street SE and the other is in the north west at #27, 15 Millrise Blvd SW. As our popularity continued to expand so did the number of stores and we have launched into Manitoba. Meet the owner

After a career as a mining engineer in China, Grant Chen decided to move to Vancouver for a change of pace. Arriving in 1999, Grant began looking for work, but unforeseen circumstances relating to his degree in engineering inspired him to look for a different career.

“I found a dishwashing job in a local restaurant and began learning about kitchens and restaurants,” Grant says. “From there, I looked for work that I could learn from. I spent two years as a dishwasher before moving to Canmore. Then I went to Fort St. John and then Grande Cache, where I bought into a Subway location.”

Always looking to increase his experience, Grant kept his eye out for another place to become shareholder in, and eventually found and bought a Vern’s Pizza franchise in Calgary in 2013.

I had a chance join the company group lunch, the food was on time, the pizza was absolutely good. good job, I definitely will order again.

Can't go wrong with a T-Rex. Portions are good but it can be a tad on a pricey side. Great when I need my pizza fix.

Love the pizza. But I don't think I should be charged for delivery when I am less than 5 km away as well as being charged for calling from my cell phone. I don't get charged these changes from anywhere else.

Last night was our third visit in six weeks. You definitely get your moneys worth. Fresh, flavourful ingredients, yummy crust. Vern's Pizza is excellent and you won't be disappointd!
