One of the most delicious stops on the clubby 10th Avenue Southwest restaurant row, Thai Sa-On is a Thai restaurant with a huge reputation. Not only is the food fantastic, but the wine list has been rated one of the city’s best. Yet you’re welcome to B your own W for $15 per bottle any night of the week.
Thai Sa-on is a spacious Thai restaurant located on 10th Avenue Southwest just east of Fourth Street. Officially approved by the government of Thailand, you know its cuisine is the real deal. The restaurant’s expansive menu includes dishes such as drunken chicken, running shrimp and a selection of red, yellow and spicy curries. Thai Sa-on also happens to have an extensive, well-curated wine list.
Not many restaurants enjoy the seal of approval of a national government, but Thai Sa-On proudly displays the official endorsement of The Thailand Department of Export Promotion Ministry of Commerce for Authentic Thai Food. And its food is as excellent as this seal of approval is lengthy. Dishes range in heat level from sweet and salty pineapple chicken to delightfully steamy shrimp and squid sautéed in chili paste and five-alarm drunken beef. Ask about the top-notch wine menu.
